The worth of these upgrades is determined by the tiers of gear, their requirements and how many random augmentations are applied. The elite racial Shield Razortail, for example, is often upgraded to increase its lightning absorption function in PvP and/or add additional defenses to missile-based designs in the PvM. This makes it more tradable over the original version that is not upgraded. Reroll Tokens Reroll tokens can be used to reroll a purchased item, such as an armor, weapon, or rings. The item is replaced by another of the same kind however with different bonuses. Reroll tokens can be a cost-effective option to upgrade equipment. However, they do not retain the quality of the original item, and any wasted resources will not be refunded. The survivors can acquire reroll tokens by a variety of means like the Mistery Box or as rare drops from skulled creatures. They are also available in crates and chests, or purchase them at the market for $150 each. Reroll tokens are used to change the attribute of a piece equipment, for example increasing its damage. Players can roll their equipment in three attributes that include physical power, magical power and health. Upgrades to physical power boost the damage caused by weapons and melee attack and spell power increase the damage of mage attacks and rings. Health upgrades provide the player with an additional amount of health. There are three types of Reroll tokens: upgrade rare and legendary. Each upgrade takes an item to a higher-quality, with the requirement of a higher-level reroll token in order to create it. Blueprints appear as envelopes at the start of each Preparation Phase, and are opened by grabbing them using Interact. When they are opened, they show an image and description of the appliance or ingredient. The restaurant's store will exchange blueprints for a new appliance or ingredient for a small amount. During the course of a run, blueprints can be transferred between the Staple Pool and the Non-staple pool based on the choice of Franchise Cards. Growthstones In Throne and Liberty, growth stones can be used to improve weapons, armor and other accessories. These stones are special stones that increase the level of an item by increasing its stats or attributes. They can be found by visiting Equipment Enchanting NPCs in the main towns. They can also purchase them from Contract Coin Merchants for a price. They can also be obtained by players who sign daily contracts. To upgrade equipment players first need to locate the appropriate item and then click on the “level up” button. The menu will appear showing the item's current level and what it will be when being leveled up as well as the necessary amount of Growth Stones to do so. The amount of Growth Stones needed to upgrade an item will depend on its rarity. Rare (blue) rarer weapons will require more than one Growth Stone, while uncommon armor requires only one Growth Stone. After choosing the item to upgrade the player must select the number of Growth Stones that they want to use and pay for the cost. Once the requirements are met, the player can select the upgrade button to apply the Growth Stones to the item. This will raise the item's level by a specific percentage. Depending on the item's rarity and rarity, the upgrade process could take between seconds and minutes. The upgrade process is risk-free and does not impact the longevity of the item. You can also upgrade trinkets and helms. The Upgrade Station allows you to combine an item with upgrade materials, and then pay a fee in Happy Tickets or Happy Stars. The upgrade materials will be used up and the item will be upgraded to an upgrade to a higher level. This process can continue until the item reaches its highest level. Items that have upgraded stats will display a blue icon next to their slot. Upgrade components, unlike enchantments cannot be applied to more than one item at once. Each upgrade component requires an amount of items and a minimum equipment level. The Upgrade Station is divided into two slots. On the left side, players can choose to add an item that they wish to upgrade. On the right side, a preview shows what the gear looks like at its next level. Each time the item is upgraded, its stats will be increased by a small percentage. The highest level for an item is 19. When an item reaches its highest level, upgrades will no longer be available to it. Likewise, once a piece of gear reaches an upgrade track (e.g. Upgrades for the Veteran or Explorer track will be discounted. Upgrade components are a kind of equipment that can be inserted into armor, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools to provide an added bonus or effect when the equipment is equipped. They can be bought from vendors, looted, or obtained through questing. They can also be traded between players. Upgrade components can be replaced with new ones, however doing so will destroy the previous upgrade, with the exception of for glyphs that can be removed and replaced at will. Requirements The upgrades to items allow players the ability to increase certain stats of weapons and armor that they currently have. Once an upgrade component is added to an object it is not able to be removed or replaced. However the glyphs can be swapped freely. Upgrades can increase the Mark Level of an item or Rarity. Some upgrade components come with additional modifiers that can increase the stats of the item. The upgrade to the helm “Foundation of the Sun” For instance, increases defense base and adds an additional 20 percent chance to block. The dps “Wildfire”, however increases damage from weapons. Some items are better off being upgraded less because of their improved stats, but more because it allows players to get the maximum amount of value from a flawless roll on the item. For instance, a perfectly rolled 200/6 504 armor set piece is highly sought-after in the melee PvP community and could be worth 20-50 times the value of the unupp'd version. The game will display the requirements when you select the upgrade component to be incorporated into the item. These include the type of item (either weapon or armor) the tier of the item, the Upgrade Token required, and the amount of progress required to complete the upgrade. If you've fulfilled the conditions for upgrading, the game will place the item in your inventory and the progress bar will be updated to show how close to completing it.
